1:15PM | The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Long Beach resident Marcel Johns.

LBPD indicated that Johns was riding his motorcycle while being shot, causing him to crash into parked vehicles nearby. No suspect information is available at this time. The investigation remains ongoing.

12:00PM | The man was shot to death while riding his motorcycle around 2AM Friday morning in North Long Beach has not been identified as officials from the L.A. County Coroner withheld the victim’s name pending family notification.

Officers responded to the scene in the 5500 block of Dairy Avenue and found a man in the street with gunshot wounds, police said. A motorcycle was also found on its side the street, and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene..

10:00AM | A motorcyclist was shot to death in North Long Beach early today, police said.

The shooting occurred at the intersection of Dairy Avenue and East 56th Street around 2AM, said Long Beach police Sgt. Megan Zabel.

The man, who was in his 20s, died at the scene, said coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter. Authorities withheld his name, pending family notification.

Several bullet casings were visible by the curb near where the motorcyclist fell, a news videographer reported from the scene.
