A Long Beach man was charged Tuesday for involvement in an armed robbery that resulted in an officer-involved shooting last week near Seaside Park, authorities said.
The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office (LADA) filed two counts of attempted robbery and one count of an ex-felon in possession of a firearm against 19-year-old Andrew Elenes, said Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Megan Zabel.
Elenes is currently being held at the Los Angeles County Jail on $400,000 bail.
The LADA is still reviewing the case and charges against the other two individuals who were arrested in connection with the incident, Zabel said.
“We are not releasing their names at this time due to investigative reasons, and doing so could potentially jeopardize the case,” she said.
