A young man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after leading Long Beach officers in a pursuit in a stolen car that he crashed before fleeing, authorities said.

The chase began at about 4:00PM near Pacific Coast Highway and Long Beach Boulevard and ended near Fourth Street and Daisy Avenue when the suspect crashed into a pole and fled on foot, Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Marlene Arrona said.

Officers found Long Beach resident Seth White, 20, shortly after he ran into the city’s Willmore City neighborhood, according to officials.

White was booked for grand theft auto, vehicle theft, evading, and hit-and-run and held on $75,000 bail, Arrona said.
