UPDATE | A 26-year-old man was sentenced Wednesday after previously pleading no contest to stealing from a Long Beach church twice within the same week.
Long Beach resident Trevor Fix was ordered to perform 60 hours of Caltrans service and placed on three years of probation. Superior Court Judge Tomson T. Ong also ordered him to complete a yearlong live-in substance abuse program and to stay away from Lakewood Village Community Church.
On August 6, Fix broke into the church’s preschool and stole several electronic items. He returned four days later and stole cash, checks, a credit card and other electronics from the church. He was arrested August 10 by Long Beach police after the owner of the stolen credit card informed authorities that the card had been used at a store.
Fix pleaded no contest to two counts of burglary and one count of identity theft on August 22.

The defendant allegedly broke into a preschool at Lakewood Village Community Church in Long Beach and stole several electronic items, according to prosecutors. Just four days later, Fix returned, allegedly stealing cash, checks, a credit card and more electronics.
After the second robbery, the owner of a stolen credit card notified police that the card had been used at a store, leading to the apprehension and eventual arrest of Fix on August 10.
