A Long Beach man was arrested Thursday evening after allegedly carrying a loaded firearm that he later abandoned in a convenience store when he fled from police, authorities said.
Officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Artesia Avenue at about 5:00PM Thursday, June 25, where the reporting party stated 29-year-old Ryan Michael Bonner had allegedly threatened him with a gun, Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Megan Zabel said.
Bonner allegedly fled inside a convenience store where he left the gun, according to Zabel.
He was eventually taken into custody without harm and the gun was recovered, officials said.
Bonner was arrested and charged with carrying a loaded firearm and is currently in custody at the Long Beach Jail on $35,000 bail.
