Long Beach detectives seized nearly 130 pounds of cocaine and methamphetamine Thursday when they served a search warrant to a Wilmington residence, authorities said.

According to Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) officials, detectives served a search warrant to the 700 block of McDonald Avenue in Wilmington on Thursday, June 25, as part of efforts to target high volume narcotics shipments in the Long Beach area and make contact with suspected narcotic traffickers.

The search led detectives to the home where they seized 124 pounds of cocaine, three pounds of methamphetamine and about $25,000—all believed to be related to a large-scale drug trafficking ring, officials said.

A person was detained in connection to the narcotics, but their identity is not released pending further investigation.
