An early Saturday morning shooting in the area of Artesia Boulevard and Atlantic Avenue left one Long Beach man dead.
Long Beach Police Department officers responded to several calls of shots fired in the area at about 2:40AM, police said. Arriving officers located a man with an apparent gunshot wound in a vehicle, identified as 27-year-old Miguel Martinez.
Long Beach Fire Department paramedics responded and determined Martinez was dead at the scene.
Police say Martinez was not a gang member and a motive for the shooting is unknown. No suspect information is available, and the investigation is ongoing.
