A man and woman were arrested Monday morning after the woman attempted to pass a forged check at a Long Beach bank and a loaded firearm was discovered in the man’s vehicle, authorities said.
The man’s young children—an infant and toddler—were taken into protective custody.
Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) officers responded to the forgery attempt at the bank—located in a grocery store—at a shopping center in the 1800 block of Ximeno Avenue at 10:35AM on Monday, July 27.
According to investigators, the woman attempted to pass a forged check at the bank before fleeing.
Bank employees then called police and provided a description of the suspects after they left the bank.

The young children were taken into protective custody by the Department of Children and Family Services.
The woman is believed to be the man’s girlfriend.
