Police are looking for a 31-year-old Long Beach man after his car was found abandoned on the freeway more than 50 miles away from his home, according to authorities.
Steven Matthew Bronson was last seen on June 27 at his home in the 1300 block of Bennett Avenue, police said. Three days later, the CHP found his silver 2003 Toyota Corolla on the northbound 5 Freeway in Castaic, according to a bulletin put out by the Long Beach Police Department.
The car’s windows were rolled down and some of Bronson’s belongings were still inside when the CHP found it, police said.

Bronson’s friends are asking for help finding him. Police said they don’t know where Bronson was headed when he left home but friends have speculated he was on his way to Bakersfield. He and his girlfriend got lost on their way there a few weeks earlier, according to one friend, Taryn Williams.
“All I know is that he’s been missing for three weeks and I feel like not enough is being done,” Williams said.
Police said that since Bronson disappeared, there’s been no activity on his social media and his phone goes straight to voicemail, which is out of character for him, according to Williams.
“Those of us that know him well know that he’s always on his phone,” she said.

Police said Bronson suffers from a mental condition that could cause him to become easily disoriented. They said he is white, about 5-foot-9, around 150 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes, police said.
Police said he’s covered in tattoos including a handicap symbol near his right eye, a wolf on the front of his neck, a bird with an “S” on a shield on the right side of his neck, and one in the shape of a diamond behind his right ear.
He was last seen wearing a black tank top, black shorts, white socks, red shoes and a brass ring on his right ring finger, police said.
