Police are investigating a string of three shootings that were all reported within the span of about 20 minutes Saturday night. Police said they don’t yet know if the shootings were related.

The first incident was at 10:30 p.m. in the MacArthur Park area at 15th Street and Gaviota Avenue, police said. There, they discovered a man with gunshot wounds to his upper and lower body. Police said the suspects were described as three men, one of whom was armed with a gun. The suspects were last seen fleeing in a white four-door vehicle police said.

Detectives responded to the scene to investigate. The victim was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, police spokesperson Ivan Garcia said, and the investigation is still ongoing.

Ten minutes later, at 10:40 p.m., offices responded to a shooting in the Washington neighborhood in the 300 block of West 14th Street where police said they discovered a woman with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to her lower torso.

The suspects were described as three male juveniles who were last seen running away from the scene. The woman was transported to a local hospital for her injuries, police said.

Police have not identified a motive for the shooting, Garcia said, and the investigation is still ongoing.

The third shooting police responded to was around 10:50 p.m. at the intersection of Sixth Street and Daisy Avenue, near Edison Elementary, where police said a man was shot at while inside his vehicle by an unknown suspect.

Police said the victim was driving on the 710 Freeway when an unknown car followed him off the freeway and shot at the victim as they approached the intersection, before driving off. The victim, officials said, was not injured by the gunfire.

There is currently no suspect or suspect vehicle information, and the investigation is still ongoing, Garcia said.
