Long Beach Animal Care Services recently lauched a new iPhone and Android app that lets Long Beach residents search for adoptable cats and dogs, look through impounded animals, find dog parks and locate urgent care facilities for animals.

Icon-1024The free app–an addition to the Go Long Beach family of municipal apps that already includes ones for the City, libraries and police department–also includes social media feeds and videos with information about other ACS services and updates and notifications about special events and clinics.

“This new app will help current pet owners find services and facilities for their animal friends, and for future pet owners to discover and share adoptable animals through social media, text messages and email,” Mayor Bob Foster said in a press release.

The app is available through iTunes and Google Play and comes online as Long Beach was again named a “Top-10 Digital City” for its third consecutive year.

Long Beach Animal Care Services serves 600,000 people throughout Long Beach, Cerritos, Seal Beach, Los Alamitos and Signal Hill and seeks to make greater Long Beach safer by promoting responsible pet ownership.

Animal Care Services is located at the P.D. Pitchford Companion Animal Village at 7700 East Spring Street in Long Beach. For more information, visitwww.longbeach.gov/acs and like Animal Care Services on Facebook at facebook.com/longbeachanimalcareservices.
