At around 6:40AM, Long Beach Fire Department responded to reports of a fire in Cressa Park, which runs along the east side of the Los Angeles River between Pacific Coast Highway and 19th St. Firefighters responded to the location, extinguished the small brush fire and discovered a dead body in the burned shrubbery, according to Sgt. David Marander of the Long Beach Police Department.

“Investigators believe the dead body is a male adult,” Marander said. “The victim’s identity is unknown at this time.”
