The 27th annual Belmont Shore Car Show will be rolling into the city Sunday morning with more than 500 classic cars available to view and opportunities to shop and dine.
The event will take place on September 11 from 9:00AM to 3:00PM. Visitors should park at the Ocean Avenue beach lots and the Marine Stadium lot off Appian Way.
East Second Street, from Livingston to Bay Shore avenues and intersecting side streets from Quincy Avenue to Claremont Avenue will be closed to the traffic from 5:00AM to 5:00PM, or until Second Street is open, organizers said. Bayshore will be open to traffic.
According to organizers, guests can expect to see classic roadsters, coupes, sedans, convertibles, muscle cars, sports cars, hot rods and lowriders from the 1920s through 1986. There will also be one-of-a-kind, limited edition or customized cars.
This year, since the event falls on 9/11, Mayor Robert Garcia will give brief remarks along with other city officials starting at 9:00AM in front of Fire Station 8, located at 5365 East Second Street.
The show is organized by the Belmont Shore Business Association and the Bay City Rodders Seal Beach Car Club, who provide the cars and vendors. For more information on the event, click here or here.
