After the weekend’s storm churned up tons of trash and debris all over the Southland and unloaded it on our city’s quaint ocean shores, the clean-up has – modestly? – begun.  Though much of the pollution will be rounded up and removed, great amounts of plastic have been left on Long Beach’s shores and tiny plastic bits – too small to see and impossible to break down – have again furthered the city’s water pollution epidemic.

Diana Lejins captured these photos of the efforts being made, as well as the extensive damage that is still left floating or lying around.
