Four men were rescued from sea early Wednesday morning after their 20-foot boat capsized about four miles off the coast of Long Beach, authorities said.
The men, who went out to fish, were spotted in the water at about 6:20AM by personnel aboard a passing tanker ship, said Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) spokesman Jake Heflin.
The personnel notified the U.S. Coast Guard, which then notified the fire department. Rescue boats were quickly sent to the scene and the men were pulled from the water and brought to shore, Heflin said.
The men were medically assessed and then released. They had been in the water for about an hour, according to Heflin.
