Therefore, while jillions of kittens are being born and subject to euthanasia because there aren\u2019t enough trappers or people with enough horse sense to get their cat fixed. (There are options to costly veterinary procedures\u2014see Fix Long Beach\u2019s cat clinic, below.)<\/p>\n<p>So, let\u2019s get some dogs adopted, and let\u2019s start, as usual, with our shelter. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.longbeach.gov\/acs\">Long Beach Animal Care Services<\/a> (ACS)\u00a0is an open-admission facility, meaning that they\u2019re obligated to take in any pet brought in. The ones who don\u2019t get adopted, pulled by rescues, or claimed by their owners are in danger of euthanasia if the facility runs out of room. No one likes this, least of all the staff and volunteers there who have bonded with the animals. Please make ACS your first stop when you\u2019re looking to adopt. They\u2019ve sent a few bowser-teasers to tempt you.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-65539 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/staging-live.lbpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/SUNNIIE-IDA495418-970x727.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunniie<\/strong> (ID#A495418 ) is a 9-year-old spayed female pittie mix with a disposition as lovely as the sound, if not the spelling, of her name suggests. Sunniie is calm and friendly to other dogs, and would love to go home to a loving family.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-65537 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/staging-live.lbpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/droopy.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"616\" height=\"570\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If there was ever a dog that embodied the verb <em>galumph<\/em>, it\u2019s <strong>Droopy <\/strong>(ID#<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/hashtag\/a504961?source=feed_text\">A504961<\/a>). There is just something about this guy. He\u2019s only 5 years old and is clunky, adorable and playful. He takes treats gently and loves going on walks.
