Four students from St. Anthony High School’s Marine Science Academy will be in San Francisco this weekend where a movie they created about the Pacific Ocean Garbage Patch will compete in the San Francisco International Ocean Film Festival’s 3rd Annual Student Film Competition. <\/p>\n
Senior Saints Nicolette Bencito, Gianfranco Gomez, Kimberly Jaurez and Jennifer Littleford were one of three filmmaking teams who researched ocean-themed ecological issues and produced films to create awareness of their chosen topics. Their film, G-Frank the Ocean Guy<\/em>–about the growing Pacific Garbage Patch Gyre, which was discovered by Long Beach oceanographer Charles Moore–emerged as one of ten finalists in the SFIOFF competition.<\/p>\n As part of the third annual student competition, G-Frank the Ocean Guy <\/i>will be aired, along with the other finalists, before a large audience at the four-day film fest’s final day, Sunday.
