Today, she wrote me and asked me if I\u2019d profile Clyde and put in a word for perfect dogs like him who are overlooked in shelters because they\u2019re perfect. That may sound like question begging, but what Darlene means is that dogs like Clyde are so comfortable, well behaved and happy that they go unnoticed.<\/p>\n<p>Trouble is, Clyde\u2019s been there since May and is the longest-time shelter resident. The shelter goes the distance to make animals adoptable and get them into forever homes, but they can only keep animals for so long, and then you know what happens. Darlene loves this guy, and she\u2019s begging\u2014and not the question\u2014and she\u2019s not giving up. Can someone please go to Long Beach Animal Care Services, 7700 East Spring Street (through the Eldorado Park entrance\u2014no parking charge for shelter and spcaLA visitors) on the shelter side, notice Clyde and a few other reserved souls, and take one of them home?<\/p>\n<p>Clyde\u2019s a nine-year-old neutered pit bull terrier. He\u2019s been microchipped\u2014his former owners never came for him\u2014and has plenty of energy. He\u2019s dog selective\u2014he chooses his friends. His ID number is A547876.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Harvest of Little Pointy-Eared Snugglers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SoCal seems to be still dealing with kitten season, with the warm weather, and it\u2019s autumn. Kittens are showing up at shelters and rescues the way leaves fall off trees. On Saturday, October 3, Pussy and Pooch in Belmont Shore will be hosting a \u201cFall\u201d in Love kitten adoption event (see <strong>Mark Your Calendars<\/strong>). Here are a few of the little guys from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/zoeysplacerescue?fref=ts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Zoey\u2019s Place Rescue<\/a>. And when you pick out your own, Pussy and Pooch has high-quality food, toys, litter and collars to round out a happy life.<\/p>\n<p><strong><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-44363\" src=\"https:\/\/staging-live.lbpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/black-white-cat.png\" alt=\"black-white-cat\" width=\"640\" height=\"465\" \/><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lucas<\/strong> is a 4-month-old tuxedo pulled from the shelter. She\u2019s very talkative and playful and enjoys belly rubs.<\/p>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-44365\" src=\"https:\/\/staging-live.lbpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/image4.JPG\" alt=\"image4\" width=\"640\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sage<\/strong> is a 2 \u00bd-month-old Siamese lynx point rescued from a backyard along with her sisters . She\u2019s very outgoing and talkative and the ultimate cuddle bug!<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"Copy-Headline\">Mandatory Spay\/Neuter Effective as of Thursday<\/h2>\n<p>The Mandatory Spay-Neuter and Pet Shop Ordinances went into effect yesterday, October 1.
