With its origins in Spain, Las Posadas is a nine-day celebration now revered largely in Mexico, Guatemala and parts of the Southwestern United States. While rooted in Catholic tradition, both religious and nonreligious community members are invited to join the festivities.<\/p>\n<p>Focused around bringing the community together and promoting cultural awareness, the celebration will feature a procession, bilingual sing-alongs, traditional drink and appetizers and a performance by Mariachi Los Amigos, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/staging-live.lbpost.com\/news\/long-beach-councilmember-uranga-to-host-posada-navidena-this-saturday\/\">this preview<\/a> (which you can read for more info).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gingerbread Village at MADE in Long Beach<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t miss checking out this sugared enormity before it\u2019s taken down the first week of the New Year. <a href=\"https:\/\/staging-live.lbpost.com\/life\/arts-culture\/gingerbread\/\">This Gingerbread Village<\/a>\u00a0is made of nearly 300 pounds of powdered sugar and 300 hours of mega patience, if you can only imagine. MADE in Long Beach is open Friday and Saturday from 10:00AM to 6:00PM and Sunday from noon to 6:00PM.
