The good folks who previously presented two fantastic and diverse ‘Schooled In Song’ concerts, both fundraisers for worthy arts education programs, are at it again, bringing together amazing local talent to support a good cause. ‘Say Yes,’ which is taking place tomorrow at the temporary Goods Gallery, kicks off at 4 PM with live DJs, magic, music, and spoken word.
Revered local singer/songwriter Jay Buchanan will perform, followed by Ikey Owens’ Free Moral Agents. Spoken word artists include Mindy Nettifee, Beau Sia, Amber Tamblyn, and Derrick Brown.
The Goods Gallery is located on the North East corner of Broadway and Long Beach Boulevard, and free parking is available in the adjacent lot to the East. Admission is ‘free,’ but a $10 donation is encouraged. Funds raised will support the new poetry non-profit, Write Now, and the local media/arts education non-profit The State of Art Project.
Complete details, including a performance schedule, is available at the ISM: A Community Project website.
