9:55am | Residents interested in ideas to plan menus and decorate for autumn are invited to the Rancho Los Alamitos Harvest Table and Culinary Workshop. This event will take place on Saturday, November 5, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Professional floral designers will guide participants in the creation of unique centerpieces to take home, using mixed gourds, dried plant materials, ribbons, and flowers. Executive Chef Pierre Barit of Teak Catering will share his recipes, while demonstrating preparation techniques. Menu items will be available for sample, such as Piña Colada French Toast; Coachella Valley White Corn Chowder; Roasted Pork Loin Roulade with Sun-Dried Fruits, Nuts, and a Port Wine Glaze; Herb Roasted Turkey Breast with Pear-Cranberry Chutney; Wild Rice Salad with Dried Cherries; Creamy Confetti Succotash; Key Lime Bars; and a surprise holiday beverage. Some of the recipes to be sampled can be found in the Rancho’s own recipe book, “Favorite Foods, Favorite Places.”

Workshop admission is $55 per guest, $45 for Rancho Members. Seating is limited, and reservations are required by November 1; visit www.rancholosalamitos.org or call 562-431-3541. Parking is free.
