Welcome to the final stretch of Spooky Season.
I hope you’re ready to summon all of your fierce Final Girl energy, because this is your moment: We’re facing the season’s final boss—Halloweekend.
Our beloved Allhallow’s Eve (that’s old-timey for Halloween) falls on a Tuesday this year (groan), which means that some of us Monday-through-Friday folk will decide to responsibly snuggle up at home in our skeleton onesies on the couch, pounding candy corn, watching Beetlejuice and maybe passing out candy to young monsters who dare to knock before passing out ourselves.
Others who are ~more fun~ will go to the 8th Annual Monster Mash: Good Foot Vs. Slop Stomp that evening.
OK, maybe staying in Tuesday is just my temptation this year, but that’s only because it’s going to be a busy weekend in Long Beach and I’m itching to share who will be haunting stages all around town this weekend and on Halloween.
For starters, what are you doing with your life if you haven’t discovered local legend Zackey Force Funk? Just listen to this track. Toes tapping? Of course they are. He’s bringing the funk to Alex’s Bar this Sunday. Details below.
For your consideration: These bars get an A+ for creeptacular cocktails and/or deathly decor in my boo-book (sorry)—Black LBC, The Hawk, Alex’s Bar, Bamboo Club and The Social List. Then there’s The 4th Horseman, which caters to the weirdos, metalheads and goths year-round.
Let’s get this party startled.
