Long Beach has embraced the resurgence of folk music with the wide open arms of a seasoned banjo player, hosting its second folk-themed festival in a larger location in Rainbow Lagoon Park, perfect for all your pie eating, square dancing, harmonizing needs. The 2nd Annual Long Beach Folk Revival Festival, happening on September 27 from 11:00AM to 10:00PM, has just announced its festival schedule, meaning you won’t have to chance missing one of your favorite bands.

There will be three stages, the Suavecita Main Stage, the Millworks Stage and the Bose Acoustic Stage, featuring over eight performances each; there will also be a dance pavilion and a stage for wee folks to get their mustache on (see the Kids Beard & Mustache Contest at 2:00PM). A pie eating contest, bluegrass jam sessions, and a banjo contest, amongst a suave slew of renowned folk performances will keep festival goers busy the whole day.

While you may be used to having to split your time between the sets of several different artists, the festival’s performances have been staggered so you can hear them all. You can catch Sawtooth at 12:45PM, performing on the Millworks Stage, then head over to the Suavecita to see Vinnie & The Hooligans at 1:45PM, then bring the kiddies over to the Wee Folk Stage for the Merchants & Madness Sideshow.
