5:55pm | The Gay and Lesbian Center of Greater Long Beach will celebrate its second annual Summer Beach Bash at Alfredo’s Beach House on Aug. 6. 

The event, which runs from 5  to 10 p.m., begins with a Sunset Happy Hour from 5 to 7 p.m. and will then feature a barbecue dinner followed by dancing and music. A local DJ will spin tunes for the guests, who will also have the opportunity to participate in a raffle for prizes.

“This event was such a success last year that we have decided to bring it back again this summer,” said The Center Board Chairman Ron Sylvester. “We originally created it as a more casual and budget-friendly alternative to a much more formal gala, and it’s quickly becoming an annual signature event for The Center.”
 
Tickets are available at CenterLB.org and are $50 pre-sale or $60 at the door. The ticket price covers all food, drinks and entertainment. All proceeds from the Beach Bash will go toward supporting the programs and services offered at The Center. 

Sponsors for the event include Long Beach Lesbian and Gay Pride and Budweiser as beverage sponsors, media sponsors Rage Monthly and BLADE magazines, and community sponsor LGB2Network, Long Beach’s networking group for LGBT professionals. The Center’s Beach Bash is produced by Elisa McConnehea of Versatile Events.

Alfredo’s is located on the beach at Ocean Boulevard and Granada Avenue across the street from Ripples.
