10:00am | Brianne’s Basics, a local charity craft business, will be featured at The IndiExhibit booth at the 2011 Primetime Emmys Gifting Suite, hosted by GBK Productions, on September 16 and 17 at the W Hotel in Hollywood. Brianne’s Basics was created by Heather Nelson in 2000, and is focused on “affordable handmade gifts while paying it forward.” In addition, Mrs. Nelson will be a representative for the IndiExhibit on Saturday, September 17. On display will be a one of a kind Glee “Sue Sylvester” amigurumi, handmade by Mrs. Nelson.

Brianne’s Basics is the brainchild of Heather Nelson, who says she wanted to combine her love of crafts and charity work. 75-100% of all profits are donated to various charities and events. Organizations she has donated to in the past include Bears On Patrol, CHOC Walk In The Park, Give Kids The World, Operation Gratitude, Soldiers Angels, among others.

“I love what I do,” said Mrs. Nelson. “I enjoy crocheting, and I have a passion for charity and volunteer work. This business allows me to combine both of my talents, while having fun with an amazing group of creative, like minded artists.” Mrs. Nelson is also a member of The IndiExhibit, a non-profit organization that represents independent artists, designers, and creatives at celebrity gift lounges and events in Hollywood. Formed in 2010 by Shannon Justice of Lollipop Labs, Inc., The IndiExhibit features an array of talented international artists, crafters, jewelry designers, sculptors, photographers, writers, musicians, and more, who are looking to elevate their brand through celebrity gifting.

Mrs. Nelson’s work was previously featured at The IndiExhibit booth at the Sundance Film Festival and the Golden Globes Gifting Suites. Mrs. Nelson was also honored to work as a representative for The IndiExhibit at the MTV Movie Awards this past June.
