Local author Tammy Kaehler is set to launch her debut novel “Dead Man’s Switch” this Friday at Expo Arts Center, located at 4321 Atlantic from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM. “Dead Man’s Switch” is the first book in the Kate Reilly Racing Mystery Series, and it is set in the high-stakes world of automobile racing.

The plot centers around an aspiring racecar driver named Kate Reilly looking for a full-time ride in the American Le Mans Series, and finds one after she stumbles over a dead driver. Upon receiving her driver’s job, Kate is viewed as the prime murder suspect and must now try to clear her name and find the real killer.

The book has received positive reviews from the likes of “Publisher’s Weekly” and noted author Julia Spencer Fleming.

Tammy Kaelher currently works as a technical writer in the Los Angeles area where she also lives with her husband.  “Dead Man’s Switch” was inspired by her stint in corporate marketing, where she was introduced to the world of automobile racing.

The book is being published by the independent publisher Poisoned Pen Press, which specializes in mystery books.
