Lee Ferrell, a musician who has played with Dick Dale as well as The Righteous Brothers, is is set to perform at McKenna’s on the Bay tomorrow night.
11:23am | When John Morris, general manager at McKenna’s on the Bay, told me he had someone I’d enjoy meeting, he wasn’t wrong. Lee Ferrell is one of those working musicians who may not be famous, but has played with everyone at one point or another. From his early days with Dick Dale to his years on the road with The Righteous Brothers to regular stints at the big Vegas lounges, he’s at ease in any context.
A consummate entertainer, his love of music and performing is plainly evident. In this interview he talks about his travels, his kids and what it means to be a man on the road. The interview is in two parts. First, enjoy our lively conversation via audio podcast, then watch Ferrell perform a rather spontaneous medley of popular songs.
Ferrell is performing this Friday from 7 to 11 p.m. at McKenna’s on the Bay. Admission is free, as is the amazing view.
