The Grand Prix of Long Beach opened its track to walkers, cyclists, roller skaters and skateboarders, Tuesday afternoon. The family-friendly event allowed participants to experience, exercise and socialize on the Grand Prix’s actual race course on the streets of DTLB.
There were mothers with strollers, children on bicycles and scooters exploring the twists and turns of the race track. Some casually strolled, while others zoomed past to get in as many laps as they could in the hour and a half they were allotted.
Many participants showed off their skills on the track but, without a doubt, grabbing the most attention was Swee Woo, a longboarder holding a paper parasol, who came from Torrance just to skate the track. And she did it in style.
