Nominations are now open for the Arts Council for Long Beach’s 2016 Arts Awards, to be presented during the annual State of the Arts on Thursday, September 22, the council announced Tuesday.

Long Beach community members can submit nominations for the James H. Ackerman Arts Philanthropist, Arts Volunteer, Arts Educator, Arts Innovator and Economic Development Arts Trailblazer awards.

During last year’s State of the Arts event, the Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association, MADE in Long Beach, Victor Ladd, Danny Flores and Dr. Ronald and Sylvia Hartman were honored for their contributions to the Long Beach arts community, whether through donating funds, fostering development or promoting and supporting creation.


 

To nominate a community member or organization who you think has shown excellence in supporting the arts this year, fill out the nomination form here. Forms must be submitted by Friday, August 26.
