Don’t forget, Long Beach! Father’s Day is right around the corner and we’ve lined up five spots throughout the city that will be slingin’ high-quality cocktails, serving up the best steak or simply throwing a good old fashioned barbecue in the name of our dear dads. Let’s show ‘em a good time this weekend, Long Beach-style.

Disco Brunch at Brix at the Shore

If your dad’s into dancing, take him to Brix, where he’ll receive a complimentary house brew or glass of champagne with the purchase of an entree during Sunday’s Disco Brunch, lunch or dinner. Celebrate the man’s paternal investment under the reflections of a dangling mirrored disco ball while ’70s disco era music fills “Studio 562” with grooves that will take dad back to a time of macrame, platform shoes and bell bottoms. Those who come clad in disco garb will also receive a free glass of champagne.

No reservations are needed for Father’s Day Disco Brunch from 10:00AM to 2:00PM, or lunch or dinner. For more information, please call 562.343.5998.

Cocktails at Lola’s Mexican Cuisine

Treat your tastebuds, and dad of course, to Lola’s brand new locally sourced artisanal cocktail program, paired with the Retro Row restaurant’s new summer menu items, including Mexican shrimp and scallop ceviche, spicy jalapeno crab cakes and a smoked jalapeno Baja shrimp burrito. Chill your palate with “The 59′ Top Drop” with Don Julio blanco, fresh squeezed lime juice, agave nectar and a floater of Grand Marnier. Or experience “The Frida” (pictured below), inspired by the iconic Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, made with Herradura reposado tequila, Cointreau, agave nectar and house made limonada.

Fuego Father’s Day BBQ

Fuego’s Father’s Day BBQ and Beer Brunch is an oceanside buffet not to be missed. Treat dad to a Father’s Day with flavor, including endless Montejo Draft Beer, Bloody Marys and Sparkling Wine, accompanied with Live Latin Jazz throughout the day on the pictaresque watefront patio. Get your hands on a Cuban Macaroni Salad, Jumbo Gulf Shrimp or some succulent Brazilian BBQ Churrascaria. After brunch, walk off the inevitable food coma at Playa at the Maya, downtown Long Beach’s only seaside beach.

Reservations are strongly encouraged. Please call 562.481.3910 or visit the Facebook page here to reserve your spot.

Steak, Scotch and Cigars at Chianina Steakhouse

If you know your dad’s a simple soul and all he wants is a glass of good scotch, a hearty steak and to catch up with his kids, this Father’s Day, take him to Chianina where all dads who dine on Sunday will receive a free cigar.

“On behalf of dads everywhere, I would like to say that we have more than enough ties and golf balls,” said Chianina Owner Michael Dene in a statement. “What dads really want this Father’s Day, or really any day of the year, is a night out with their son or daughter to enjoy a world-class steak.”
