Some of the biggest names in rap showed love to Long Beach on Saturday as fans gathered at the Queen Mary Events Park for the inaugural Summertime in the LBC, presented by the OC-based music venue The Observatory.

With the ocean liner and the city’s downtown as the perfect backdrop, and bright and clear skies above, fans seemed to really enjoy the performances by 50 Cent, YG, Wu-Tang Clan, Slick Rick and The Dogg Pound.

Aside from 50 Cent performing about a half hour later than he was supposed to, the show went off without a hitch, with just about every crowd member knowing each word by heart, mouthing the words to all the tracks performed that night.

Even the mayor had a great time.

As the bigger acts stepped onto the main stage toward the end of the event, the audience started to crowd one another like tightly packed sardines. Despite knocking elbows and bumping shoulders, they brought mellow vibes to the warm summer evening.

Fans also got to choose from a variety of food options, including pork belly quesadillas, lobster grilled cheese, filet mignon, mac n’ cheese, ice cream and fish tacos. Luckily, the moderately long food and drink lines moved fast.
