The City of Long Beach Public Works Department invites you to join them for a free one-hour virtual workshop on Wednesday March 17, 2021 from 12:00pm – 1:00pm. This fun and informative workshop will how to make non-toxic cleaning supplies with safe, natural ingredients while saving money and reducing waste.

We are all home and cleaning more than ever. Do you know what’s in your cleaning products and if they contain harmful chemicals? This workshop utilizes common non-toxic household items to create cleaning products that protect your home and community from excess waste and toxic chemicals. You can even save money by using items you already have in your home to make these products. In addition to this workshop, the Public Works Department  is hosting a series of virtual workshops throughout 2021 on topics ranging from the City’s recycling program, waste reduction, composting, and more. The following workshops will be presented in both English and Spanish:

Recycling 101: Let’s Recycle Right!: Learn about the City’s recycling program. We’ll teach you what can and cannot be recycled and how to prepare your trash and recyclables correctly.

Composting at Home: Learn how to turn your food scraps and yard debris into a valuable soil amendment for your garden or landscape.

Do It Yourself (DIY) Green and Safe Cleaning: Learn how to make non-toxic cleaning supplies with safe, natural ingredients while saving money and reducing waste.

Reduce Waste at Home: Kitchen Edition: Learn strategies to reduce food waste and packaging waste in the kitchen.
